Manufacturer verification policy

Section 1

Purpose and independence

Verification helps reduce identity misrepresentation by reviewing GST and PAN records plus evidence of manufacturing activity. It is separate from subscription status: paying for Growth or Sponsored does not buy a verification result, and Free manufacturers may qualify when they meet the same verification standard.

The badge records this limited evidence review; it is not continuous factory monitoring or confirmation of every capability claim.

Section 2

Public labels

• Unverified accounts receive no manufacturer-verification badge.
• Verified manufacturer: b2bsilvish reviewed GST and PAN records plus Udyam or another approved manufacturing document for the enrolled legal entity.
• Sponsored: a paid promotional label. It identifies placement, not verification or superior product quality.
• Supplier provided: any other certificate, capability or information was provided by the supplier and was not verified by b2bsilvish.

Section 3

Baseline checks

• OTP-confirmed mobile number and required primary business email.
• Legal business name and GST registration checked against submitted evidence and, where available, lawful official records.
• PAN and legal-name consistency reviewed privately; the PAN number and supporting document are not intended for public display.
• Udyam/MSME registration reviewed when available. If it is unavailable, an authorised reviewer may accept another relevant manufacturing document after examining the uploaded evidence and recording a reason.
• Alternative-proof decisions are audited, reversible and do not mark Udyam as verified.
• Eligible primary business type and manufacturing linkage; traders and resellers cannot receive the manufacturer badge or publish in the manufacturer-only marketplace.

Section 4

Risk and misuse checks

Depending on a report, inconsistency or category risk, we may request factory utility records, machinery invoices, production photos, licences, invoices, a live walkthrough or third-party inspection. These checks support enforcement decisions but do not add separate public verification marks.

Government and public portals may be used to cross-check GST, PAN-related legal identity and Udyam information where lawful and technically available. Automated checks produce a signal for review and do not replace human assessment when records conflict.

Section 5

How we assess manufacturer-only status

We look for a coherent link between the legal entity, factory location, people, equipment, raw materials, process, output and listed product. Merely holding GST, Udyam or a website does not prove manufacturing.

A manufacturer may outsource a disclosed supporting process, but must not conceal that its core listed product is procured and resold. Private-label or contract manufacturing claims must accurately identify the capability actually controlled by the enrolled supplier.

Section 6

Certificates and regulated claims

The Verified Manufacturer badge does not verify quality, product, factory, export or sector certificates submitted by a supplier. Those records are labelled supplier-provided and never receive a b2bsilvish verification mark.

Buyers should obtain the current document and confirm its entity, issuer, product scope and validity before contracting.

Section 7

Ongoing review, badge withdrawal and expiry

Verification may be renewed periodically or triggered by profile changes, document expiry, buyer report, suspicious activity, government-record inconsistency or new category risk. A badge and public listings may be paused while evidence is reviewed. Verification can be withdrawn if the evidence was false, altered, expired, no longer matches the business or no longer supports manufacturing status.

Suppliers must notify us when ownership, legal entity, GSTIN, factory, core process, primary contact or licence changes. Continued display of outdated evidence, document manipulation or evasion through a related account may be treated as serious misrepresentation and may make paid fees non-refundable to the extent permitted by law.

Section 8

What verification does not guarantee

• Product quality, safety, compliance with a buyer’s destination laws or fitness for purpose.
• Factory capacity, solvency, pricing, response, lead time, delivery, warranty or transaction performance.
• That no manufacturing process is outsourced.
• Authenticity of every future document, statement, sample or shipment.
• A buyer’s payment protection, because orders and payments occur outside b2bsilvish.

Section 9

Reports, suspension and correction

Anyone may report suspected trader activity, false identity, certificate misuse or inaccurate factory information with the relevant URL and evidence. We may request a supplier response, temporarily hide the badge or listing, conduct renewed checks or remove the account.

A supplier may challenge an outcome through Support. We will review relevant evidence, conflicts and audit history, but we are not required to disclose confidential fraud-detection methods or another person’s protected data.
